2012 Honor Flights Announced:

The first Honor Flights of 2012 have been announced at our annual open meeting, Saturday, January 21st. Honor Flights will fly from Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport on April 17th, May 22nd, and June 19th. Those veterans and guardians involved in each of these Honor Flights will be notified in a timely fashion - so please wait until you hear from LLHF concerning your Honor Flight. Other Honor Flights will be scheduled as funding allows. Please consider supporting our efforts - check out our Donations Page.

2012 LLHF Annual Meeting Success:

The Land of Lincoln Honor Flight Board of Directors would like to thank 80+ individuals who attended our annual meeting. Those attending heard reports from the officers and board members concerning the activities and finances of the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight. Of pressing importance, were dates of Honor Flights for the 2012 flying season which the officers gladly release the first three dates - April 17th, May 22nd, and June 19th.

The officers announced that LLHF are accepting veteran applications from all veterans that served during the following periods of time: 1. those enlisted by 12/31/46; 2. those enlisted from 1/1/47 through 12/31/57; and 3. those enlisted from 1/1/58 through 5/7/75. Veterans will be offered the flight in order of the time period they are in and their application date. Priority will be given to those veterans who live in our designated service area.

February 18th Pancake & Sausage Breakfast:

The American Legion, Auxillary and SAL members of Mt Pulaski are sponsoring a free Biscuit & Gravy Breakfast on Saturday, February 18th at 9:00 AM at the American Legion Post. At 9:00 AM, after posting of the colors and short talk about Honor Flight, the breakfast will begin. You will be able to participate in a free-will donation to benefit the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight. Serving will continue until noon.

March 3rd Bowling Tournament:

On March 3rd, the following agencies: Litchfield Fire Department Local 3252, Red Knights Motorcycle Group IL Chapter 17, and the Litchfield Bowling Alley will sponsor a 9-pin no tap bowling tournament with a 30$ entry fee that includes a donation to support Land of Lincoln Honor Flights. Sign up starts at 4:00 PM at the Litchfield Bowling Alley, 3320 IL Rte 161 Street, Litchfield, IL. First set starts at 5:00 PM. Second set starts at 9:00 PM.
